On May 20, 2016, City University of Macau, Maritime Silk Road Association and Institute of European Studies of Macau held the Workshop on Implications of the Belt and Road Initiative for Portuguese-Speaking Countries, at Ho Yin Conference Center, City University of Macau.
Mr. Wen Lian Cao, the Director of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, Thomas Chan,President of Maritime Silk Road Association and other representatives from institutes, consulates and so on attended to this workshop and gave speeches.
The goal of the workshop was to discuss the Implication of the Belt and Road Initiative for Portuguese-Speaking Countries, explore the role of Macau as the platform between China and Portugal and promote the bilateral cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The content of this workshop can be divided into 3 parts as follows: Belt and Road Initiative Opens New Trade and Investment Possibilities to Portuguese-Speaking Countries, Belt and Road Initiative’s Benefits to the Creative Industry and Small/Medium Size Enterprises and Macau’s Role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
